What is up y’all?? How’s life been, are you sad summer is over?? I am just working my life away over here and literally said the other day that is was June. It’s almost September, I have no idea where the time went. Since it has bee flying by I honestly forgot I moved into my apartment in April… I have literally been there for 4 months and am still not done with the place.
Yes, when you walk in the apartment all the furniture is in there and yes, I have some stuff on the wall. But, my living room was just thrown together when I moved in. I moved in at the end of April, I was amongst graduation, vacation, starting a new job and my grown up life. So needless to say I didn’t have the time nor attention to get my place up in running in Cassidy Style.
If those of you that don’t know I do have a roommate! She is really never in my stories or on my Instagram because we have completely different work schedules and I almost never see her. We work together and I usually have the early morning shifts and she has the late evening shift so our days overlap 3 hours at work and thats it hahah. Juliana is her name and she is so chill! She doesn’t mind me decorating or doing anything! So I just usually do it in Cassidy Style but I def keep her in mind!
So for the bar cart, like I said when I moved in things were just thrown everywhere. I did not organize the cart or make it cute whatsoever. It has really been bothering me lately that it wasn’t decorated and there wasn’t anything on the walls. So I vowed to shake it up and make it so super cute! I am big on reusing things and finding good deals. Even though I am making “big girl money” I now have “big girl expenses” so I try to keep myself on some sort of budget every month. I am also planning to tackle my apartment in several different projects to minimize expenses all at once.
So of course, as you know, up first on the list of projects was my bar cart! I first started by getting inspiration on Pinterest, I searched “bar carts” (wow clever, Cassidy) and got some ideas! From the start I knew that fake flowers on my cart were a must! I also knew the bar cart had to be clutter free. I wanted clean lines and I wanted everything to look like it had a place. The rest of my life is cluttered so my bar cart can’t be hahahah.
For the pictures above the cart, I knew I wanted a collage of some sort. Collages are my absolute favorite to do because I feel like you can be so creative and they add a lot to a space. I had been looking on Etsy for a while and had found the Channel champagne bottle print. Buying prints online is such a cost effective way to make a big impact on a room. I know this 8×10 pic isn’t making a huge impact on my whole living room LOL. But it can in other areas, like my two huge pictures I have above my bed. Buying the print online for only $8 and printing it myself saves so much money. The other two black picture frames, I printed the prints, too! I found the black leorad print on google images and I typed up the “why limit happy to one hour?” myself and justcpronted it out on regular computer paper! For the two gold picture frames, I have had both of those for over a year. I believe they both were from Hobby Lobby!
My holographic champagne glasses are too gorgeous not to be seen at all times so DUH they have to be seen haha. I also wanted to make sure my coasters stayed on my cart for easy access. Now was the time to add some “fluff” pieces for the top of my bar cart. I found the cutest tic-tac-toe board and added a letter board! I also used a cute gold pencil holder and ordered fun black and white straws to pull it all together. For the bottom of the cart, I already had my huge jar of mini alcohol bottles so I just set it down there. The gold tray that holds some wine and champagne, I literally found that a couple months ago and had it on my table, but I think it’s better fit on my cart!
It doesn’t take a lot to decorate something cute it just takes a couple minutes to place things and move them around until you like it. I am so over the moon with my new bar cart now and I can’t wait to show it off at my next party. After I get back from NYFW I plan to start working on the wall above of my TV in my living room. Then work on my buffet in my dinning room. I have a lot ahead of me but I can’t wait to keep making my apartment my home.
