I was always that little girl that just wanted to wear makeup. My mom made me wait until I was 13 years old before I could wear it but even there it was very restricted. I grew up with sorta bad skin and started going to the dermatologist when I was in the 7th grade. My acne really affected me in junior high and high school just like it did to all other teenagers. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of college that my acne really cleared up.
Growing up with acne since I can remember I really tried to stay away from drugstore products. I tried to only use the best on my skin. No, I try not to a brat about high end makeup but it is all I use on my skin. People still to this day get on my case about it and all I say is my mom paid gobs of money on my dermatologist bills, medicine and treatments for my skin I am not going to ruin it. hahah.
So with my skin I am going to start at night with my night routine! If you listen to one piece of advise in this whole blog post remember this… wash your face/ clean off your makeup EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! Consistency with your skin is the best thing for it! Trust me I know from years of bad skin. I am fortunate enough to have found a system that works for me and now my skin is amazing!
So every night I start off by removing my makeup with a makeup wipe. If I have a bunch of mascara on I use eye makeup remover on a cotton round. Once all makeup is removed I put some face cleanser on my Clarisonic and scrub my face!! Once done I pat my face dry and apply night cream and eye cream.
When I wake up in the mornings I do not wash my face because it is still clean from the night before. My skin would be too dry if I washed it morning and night! So I start out by applying daily moisturizer and eye cream again! To begin with makeup… I try to remember a primer but it doesn’t always happen hahaha. So for my foundation it depends if I have spray tanned skin or regular skin but I apply both foundations with my beauty blender. After I apply foundation I apply concealer under my eyes. If I ever have any red areas, I apply the same concealer on the areas and blend everything in with my beauty blender, again. I then set my whole face with loose powder and oddly enough I still use my beauty blender for that too!!! haha why not get three uses out of one item!?
Then I move onto apply my bronzer. I apply it really heavy under my cheeks as a contour, then on my temples and under my jaw bone! After I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks and blend that up into my temples. If any of that looks too harsh I take a fluffy powder brush and blend it all together. I then apply a butt load of highlighter😂 I am not even kidding I am the queen of highlighting. I layer two to three different highlighters on top of each other to get it just right (highlighter: one, two, three)! I then swipe any left over highlighter on my brush onto my eyelids for “eye shadow”. After that I fill in my eyebrows with a pencil and then set them with a gel. I then curl my eyelashes and omg I swear by this lash curler. I have tried a couple different ones and this one is worth the money and works sooo well! I then apply about four coats of mascara switching back and forth between three different mascaras (mascara: one, two, three) haha. I know it sounds so extra but each mascara brings something different to the table. I then do one small swipe over my bottom lashes just to give them some color!
For my lips, I always have chapstick on them. I also swear by this chapstick and am probably on my 12th stick or so hahah. If I am going to somewhere a little nicer than just shopping by myself I put a little lip gloss on! And then if I’m going to dinner or somewhere nicer I make sure to put a little nude/ pink lipstick on!
Okay, wow! Writing everything out sounds like a lot but I seriously can do this makeup routine in 10 mins or less! I can also drag it out to 30 mins if I am trying really hard for some reason LOL. If you have any other questions I didn’t answer leave them in the comments below!!!! Love you all! Happy holidays!
