Cue Taylor Swift… “Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you! Welcome to New York, welcome to New York!” Literally the song I think of every single time I come here!
Now, I’m no stranger to the city I have probably come here a dozen+ times but this time was different. My sister was attending a handful of New York Fashion Week shows. I mentioned to her that I wanted to come so she emailed all the designers and one emailed back saying they had an extra ticket for me!! I was so overjoyed I hopped on a plane and arrived in NY just in time for the show!
The designer I went and saw was Nicole Bell. Her clothes were awesome!!! So many of the outfits I could actually see myself wearing. She did an amazing job on mixing textures and prints to make the line very cohesive! The only one negative was nothing was too innovative. What I mean by that is all the silhouettes I had seen somewhere else… like wide legged pants and crop tops. But, nonetheless the show was amazing! Nicole is so very talented and I’m excited to “know” her now so I can keep up and get inspiration from her designs!
I had less than a week’s notice that I would be going to NYFW so my outfit was a huge question on my mind. Of course I have a huge oversized closet filled with so many cute pieces but I still had nothing to wear. LOL story of my life. Also this past Thursday- Monday was sorority recruitment so I couldn’t go shopping any of those days. All the time I had was Tuesday when I finished nannying at 1pm before I went to work at my hotel at 4pm. So there was no playing around, I drove straight to Nordstrom on a mission. I needed a cute but sophisticated black dress for NYFW. I cannot believe it but I found just that! It was the second dress I tried on and literally nothing after could compare. The dress is sort of a wrap dress. It is so flattering and so good for so many occasions! I see myself wearing this dress many more times in my future!

I bought the dress the hurried to get home! I thought I had in my mind which shoes I wanted to wear but when I put them on they weren’t my favorites. I had forgot that I had these super simple black suede scalloped heels from Lauren Conrad! They went perfectly with the outfit and I couldn’t be happier. The week before I had been at Walmart to get black work pants and belt for a school uniform I was required to wear to my foods class. While I was there I looked at the accessories! I had seen other bloggers post about wearings from Walmart but I had to see it for myself. GUYS…. Walmart is killing the game in earrings. I got super cute black, three tiered ball earrings for $4. Yes you read that right only FOUR stinking dollars. Literally run and go get you some. I picked up another black pair that I can’t wait to wear in the future.

All and all the fashion show was amazing and so was my outfit! Hahah I am so beyond blessed and lucky I was able to fly out here for a two days to attend a show! Thanks to my bosses for letting me off work and understanding my extraness. Thanks to my supportive friends and family that also understand my extraness. And an especial big thanks to my sister Cailyn for getting me the show ticket and letting me stay at her new super adorable apartment! Also thank you for understanding my extraness and the need to get 100 pictures at every location.
So sad my trip to New York is over but, I can’t wait to come back and visit soon!
xoxo, Cass
