OMG today is the day! I am leaving for Peru! If you didn’t know
I am studying abroad in Peru for a little under six weeks. I have always wanted
to study abroad and today is finally the day. Five months ago when I applied for
this program I never actually thought it would ever come, it felt so far away.
All my late nights of Pinteresting things to do and what to wear are finally
busy. I just moved into my new apartment two weeks ago and finished up my
junior year of school and my last day of work. Then I threw everything in a
suitcase, woke up at 5:30am Mother Day’s morning and drove from Houston to
Arlington to surprise my Mom at her Mother’s Day brunch. I then had my little sister’s
conformation mass on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday were full of running errands,
having goodbye lunches, getting my nails done, and packing. But it is all worth
it now sitting in the airport getting ready to board.
learn, experience the culture, grow, explore, and maybe (hopefully) pick up
some Spanish… because I know none. LOL. I still do not know my class schedule
but I should be getting it on Friday! I just found out Monday where I will be living
and it is legit in a nice hotel (well from the pictures online it looked nice so we will see when we get there hahah). Being a Hotel Restaurant Management major I love staying in different
places and seeing how the management and the facilities are. Staying for an
extended period of time and is super neat because I have never done that before.
taxi ride lol. It is also not too far of a walk from the city center. There is
suppose to be amazing food and architecture all around. I am mostly excited for
all the food but a little scared too. I am not that picky of a person but at
the same time I am pretty picky. Also I’m praying I either find a friend that can speak and
read Spanish or the restaurants have menus in English (I bet they will but I still worry). If I
can’t find either of the two I guess I’m pointing to something on the menu and
praying it tastes good haha. Now that I say that it sounds pretty fun, I’ll let you know how it goes.
be called. Can’t wait for the future and my many adventures in Peru. Until then
catch you later.
